Master Class Day (Day 2)

John Ladley

Principal Consultant, Sonraí Solutions

Half Day Tutorial: 09:30 – 13:00

It is more than literacy – why data acumen is important

Data has always been important. Most organizations’ leadership are supportive of more direct-action concerning data. Many data related efforts work, but the grand vision of “enterprise information management” is elusive. Ask any CDO.

Data literacy is the current response. It is all the rage. But already, this is falling short. The issue is far deeper than reading and communicating, the traditional definition of literacy. Second, whatever it is you want to call it, NO ONE in your organization is at the right level – including you.

The approach to the “literacy “ issue requires fresh thinking, embracing of some new concepts, and appropriate levels of training across all areas in organizations. Please join John as he shares insights and advice that will re-energize the view of data in your organization.

Daragh O Brien

CEO, Castlebridge

Full Day Tutorial: 09:30 – 16:30

Developing a Business Data Strategy for Responsible AI

The rapid pace of development of Artificial Intelligence and related technologies holds potential promise for organisations looking to tap their data assets more effectively and efficiently. However, the adoption of new technologies may in fact herald the calling in of technical and data debt in organisations as the promised potential builds on the foundations of data capabilities already in the organisation.

In this master class, Daragh O Brien, co-author of “Data Ethics” and featured TDAN.com columnist, walks delegates through a structured approach to defining a roadmap for sustainable data improvement to support responsible AI implementation. The session will also look at where AI and machine learning technologies can assist in the ‘heavy lifting’ of data and technical debt management and the critical role of data governance in ensuring appropriate standards are in place, complied with, and understood.
